The house · since 1984
A heritage house in Recoleta, not a walk-in shop.
Daniel Varela founded the house in 1984 in Galería del Este, Microcentro —today on Av. Alvear, Recoleta— with a simple principle: the client understands what they pay and what they receive. We appraise in front of you, explain how we arrive at the value and pay on the spot if you accept. With complete discretion.
Daniel Varela
Hands-on appraiser, caliber expertise, second generation of craft.
Daniel is a specialist appraiser of fine jewelry and watches, active since 1984, and worked as appraiser and buyer at Casa Escasany, Joyería Ricciardi and The Watch Gallery. That background lets him appraise with real knowledge of caliber, original dial, rare variants and the international market. We do not outsource trust: he personally evaluates every watch.
The team is completed by his secretary for client care. Daniel Jr. —the second generation— accompanies the appraisal of vintage watches and inherited pieces.

How we receive you
- 01
Private meeting in a separate room
We reserve a closed space, without walk-in foot traffic or shop window, so you can show us your piece with time and discretion. If you arrive accompanied, your companion is also welcome.
- 02
Physical inspection in front of you
We use a certified scale, 10x loupe and XRF spectrometer (when needed). We weigh, identify purity, authenticate the maker's mark and verify caliber on watches. We explain every step.
- 03
Value explained in plain language
We show you how we arrive at the price: reference, caliber, condition and comparable international market. No jargon, no promises, no 'internal' prices. If it's worth keeping the piece, we tell you that too.
- 04
Payment on the spot or consignment
If you accept, we pay in cash or by immediate bank transfer. For very high-value pieces we may offer consignment (we sell it on your behalf and pay once it closes). You decide without rush.
Come and meet us in person
If you are thinking of selling a watch and prefer to talk first, let's arrange a visit. No commitment.
